It's going to be in the mid-90s today... HOT!
The girls just got a pool that they can hopefully cool off in and enjoy some of this nice weather.
Here are some pictures, enjoy!
We're looking at mid 70s and hotter for the rest of this week and weekend in the 90s???
The girls got a nice, new "lagoon" pool. We took some pictures of them, and I'll post them later today. Come back and look at the girls enjoying the water!
Hello everyone,
This past few weeks has been rather busy in our house. Karlee finished her first year of preschool, and she is very excited to go to kindergarten next year. Evidently she'll be going to a school that is highly sought after, even more so that some private schools, so we're pretty excited about that, too. Plus, it's not very far from us, so it'll be nice to be close by.
Natalie has been... well, she's been Natalie. :) That's not a bad thing, I just don't really know what to compare her to. She's growing like a weed, and saying new words every day. She's starting to transition from her crib to sleeping in a toddler bed, and still sleeping through the night. If she wakes up, she still has trouble grasping that she can get up and just walk into our room. Sometimes she'll just lie there and cry until we come get her.
Angela's parents are out of town for 2 weeks and we've been watching their dog, Mitzy, for them. She's a very energetic dog that gets a little rambunctious at times, but she's a good dog. There are lots of worse things that she could do.
My work had some layoffs just recently, and last friday was the last day for those who got let go. I completely forgot, but in talking with others that were in the office that day, it was a sad day. I can certainly sympathize. I've been on the wrong end of that, and it's not fun. I don't envy these people's search for work over the next few weeks (hopefully that's all it'll take).
Even though I didn't get the axe, having been in that position before, I get a little anxious. Every indication says that I'm perfectly safe, but my gut tells me that that's never completely true. The business is going to let you go when they think it makes the best sense for them, even if they're worse off in the deal.
Just recently, we had a garage sale to help supplement our income (what's up with the gas prices? Enough already) and at our sale, Karlee had a lemonade stand with cookies that Angela baked up that morning. She almost had more sales than we did on the first day, and the second day, she beat everyone in totals.

We had fun, and we were blessed with some decent sales. You can definitely tell everyone's feeling the pinch of gas prices, economy, etc, but that didn't keep people from walking and bicycling to our sale. :)
Anyways, I wanted to put up an update so that people didn't think I forgot about this again. I'm still here...

Have a good week!
Here's a slideshow of some photos we took when we went to Lincoln City a few weeks ago when it got really hot here.
Enjoy!

Yes, I know I've done this before, and here I am, doing it again. I'm sorry for not keeping this blog updated. For all of our families and friends, I know you like to come here to see what's going on with us and keep up on the latest pictures.
I hope to keep this updated as time goes on with more pictures and stories of what's going on here.
Please keep coming back, if only to enjoy the same photos again and again. I may be a biased father, but I still get a smile seeing these girls in the same photos over and over again.
Thanks!
Hello, all. Yes, it's been awhile. I guess things have been a little busy. Just in the last few months, I've (Riley) been traveling a lot. Back in February, I went to Chicago for a week for a class called "Instructional Design for New Instructional Designers". After that, I was in Orlando and Sarasota, Florida for two weeks. The first week was for a class called "Web Learning" and the second week was for an internal GE class on SymSecure 4.1.
And then, the really big trip. GE sent Angela and me to Cancun, Mexico for 5 days for a dealer pro convention. Now that was fun, and GE paid for everything, even Angela!
Here's some photos from our trip for you to look at.
And we got back just in time for me to have back surgery. Yep, we got back late on Sunday, and Tuesday afternoon, I went in for some surgery on my back to relieve some sciatic nerve pain associated with a herniated disc. So, here it is a couple of days after, and I'm sitting/laying down most of the time, and can't lift anything, can't really do much of anything. So, I figured the least I could do is update everyone on the blog (if anyone is still reading it) and give you guys some pictures.
Hope all is well. Keep reading if you can bear it.
Karlee had the great idea of trying to brush her own hair, which you wouldn't normally have any second thoughts about, right? Well, we didn't either, and look what happened.
She was pretty upset about it. We thought she'd done it on purpose, because she's been bugging us to cut her hair recently. There's another girl in her preschool class that got her hair cut short, and ever since then, she's been asking us to get it cut, too. We say no, we like her long hair.
Anyways, she got it all twisted and tangled up and then came to us. Luckily, Angela was able to get it untangled just after this picture was taken, so all is well in the hair world.
Okay, I don't want to post too much and spoil what the family Christmas card will be, but I caught this one at just the right time and wanted to share it with you. Natalie was actually smiling, which was kinda hard to get during this session, but what really makes it kinda funny is the look on Karlee's face. I think she was playing peek-a-boo, but I don't really know who it was with... well, just take a look.
You may want to look at it bigger to really see the expression on Karlee's face. Click on the picture above to see it larger.
